Tried to make a butter robot meme in GIMP and spent 4 hours just on the eyes
I wanted to edit the butter robot's face to have that 'existential dread' look but with googly eyes. Thought it would take 20 minutes max. Ended up using a specific brush tool wrong for like 2 hours before I found a YouTube tutorial from 2019 that showed the exact setting in Portland. Has anyone else ever wasted a whole afternoon on a tiny detail in a meme edit that nobody will even notice?

Save your work every 15 minutes and just use the lazy eyed filter instead, trust me it covers up most mistakes in half the time.

Oh man, I feel this in my soul. I once spent a solid three and a half hours trying to get the perfect "glow" effect on a single light bulb in a "my sleep schedule" meme. I kept flattening the layers by accident and had to start over like four times. In the end I just gave up and used a yellow highlighter tool and called it a day. Nobody ever noticed but I can still see where I messed up the edge.
