Just realized not oiling my cast iron every single night keeps it cooking better after 8 years
For years I scrubbed my skillet with dish soap and re-oiled it after every single meal because that was the rule I heard over and over. My grandmother's old pan in the cabinet had a slicker surface than mine ever did, and it turned out she just wiped it out with a paper towel and a little salt, maybe oiling it once a month. Has anyone else found that doing less to their cast iron holds up better over the long run?
