My uncle told me to skip the $40 boot dryer and just stuff newspapers in my waders, he was wrong
My uncle has been duck hunting on the eastern shore of Maryland for 30 years and he swore newspapers were all you need to dry rubber boots overnight. I tried it for two weeks in January and my feet were still damp by 5am every single hunt, plus the paper stuck to the inside and turned into pulp. Bought a $40 forced air dryer off a guy at a flea market in Easton and my boots have been bone dry for 4 seasons now. He still gives me a hard time about it but I noticed he stopped lending me his spare pair. Anyone else get handed old school advice that sounded smart but fell apart in real use?
