Three years ago I grabbed a beat up pair of leather work boots from a guy at the Tacoma flea market for $12, mostly as a backup, and I've worn them maybe 4 days a week since then with one $20 resole last spring. My $180 pair from the big box store started coming apart at the seams after 14 months, so now I'm torn between thinking cheap old boots are secretly the way to go or that I just got lucky with one pair. Anyone else had a cheap pickup outlast the fancy stuff, or is this just dumb luck that won't happen twice?
