Watched my $240 boots go from dry to soaked in under a year because of one tiny crack
Bought a pair of leather work boots in Boise last spring and by month 10 the right one was letting water in during a light drizzle. Turned out a small crack had opened up along the flex point where the toe bends, and once I found it I could see the leather there was way thinner than the rest. I had been oiling them maybe once a month which a guy at the shop later told me was actually too often and was softening the leather. Anyone got a leather conditioner they trust for boots that actually see mud and rain, or am I better off just rotating two pairs?
