An old timer in Dayton told me to ditch my brad nails for glue and clamps on face frames, and he was right
I was building a maple face frame set for a kitchen job last month and a guy who's been in the trade 40 years told me to clamp and glue instead of shooting brads. I figured it would slow me down and leave gaps, so I tried it on just one cabinet to prove him wrong. Took about 15 extra minutes per frame, but when I checked the joints the next morning they were dead tight with no fill needed, and I barely touched the sander. Now I'm wondering if I should do it on the full run of 8 doors or if there's a spot where brads still make sense.
