Changed my mind about using a 1/4 inch roundover bit for all eased edges after seeing a client's 1920s original cabinets in St. Paul.

The subtle, almost flat profile they achieved with a hand plane and a slight sanding block bevel, which I initially dismissed as crude, actually creates a shadow line that feels much more substantial and intentional than my machine-made uniform roundover, so has anyone else found a specific vintage detail that changed their standard approach?

Ever try to get a router to act like it's got a hangover? My roundovers always look a little too eager, like they're trying too hard to be friendly. That old hand work has a quiet confidence my power tools just can't fake.

Nah, that handmade look just seems sloppy to me.
