Customer asked for a floating shelf, got a physics lesson instead
Last month in my shop near Dayton, I finished a walnut shelf and hung it with those heavy-duty brackets. The client walked in, tapped the edge, and said 'that's not floating, I can see the metal.' I told her the laws of gravity don't care about aesthetics. She laughed, then we spent an hour picking out a thinner bracket that hid behind the wood. Anyone else deal with clients who want magic instead of math?
