Just finished my 200th drawer box and I almost didn't notice
I was doing a kitchen job over in Beaverton last month and had this stack of dovetail drawers to glue up, and somewhere in the middle I counted back through my job log and hit 200 drawer boxes since I started doing them in-house about two years ago. Honestly the first 40 or so were ugly, my pins were gappy and I burned through way more stock than I care to admit. Around 100 I quit dreading the setup and just got into a rhythm with my router jig. This last batch the joints came out tight enough that I barely had to sand them, maybe 10 minutes total on 14 boxes. Nothing huge, but for a two man cabinet outfit that used to order boxes from a supplier and eat the lead times, it feels good to make them ourselves now. Curious what count you all are at and when you felt like you finally had the dovetail thing down, because I still get a bad one every now and then.
