That $6 tube of CA glue from the hardware store ruined my whole Friday

Ngl I grabbed a cheap bottle of thin CA glue at Home Depot in Austin because my usual stuff was backordered, and it took forever to set on this walnut edge banding. I ended up holding two panels together for like 15 minutes with clamps that kept slipping. Has anyone else had luck with the brand name store brand stuff, or am I just stuck ordering online every time?

Used to grab whatever cheap bottle was closest to the register and figured glue was glue. That stopped after a bad batch of store brand stuff nearly ruined a whole shelf project I was building for my sister. Thing is, the price difference is like four bucks but the headache it saves you is worth way more. Walnut especially just laughs at slow setting glue, it soaks in and grabs before the chemical even kicks off. At this point I just order a three pack of my usual brand online and keep a backup in the fridge so I never have to run to the hardware store in a panic again.
