A customer in Boise told me my cable runs looked like spaghetti

This was maybe 8 years ago on a big apartment job. He pointed at a bundle I'd just dropped and said, 'Looks like you're making dinner, not running lines.' I started using a velcro strap every 18 inches and planning my route from the pole to the tap before I even get the ladder out. Anyone else have a simple tip for keeping bundles clean in tight spaces?

I started using a small piece of conduit for the main trunk line in attics, keeps everything straight and off the joists.

Hey that's actually a solid idea. One thing I've noticed though, you gotta watch out for condensation dripping off that conduit in really humid attics. It can make a mess on the ceiling below if you're not careful. Maybe throw some foam pipe insulation around it as a cheap drip guard. Just a thought from dealing with some nasty callbacks.

Whoa, hold on... I gotta push back on that one. Conduit in an attic just creates a bunch of new problems. You're basically turning the whole run into a giant heat trap and if that conduit ever gets even a little warm from the sun beating on the roof, your cables inside are gonna cook and get brittle way faster. Plus good luck pulling a new line through that thing later if you need to, especially if you hit a sharp bend.
