Caught a major flaw in my outdoor cable run before it got worse
The connectors were already rusting after a few weeks. I replaced them all with sealed types and now check every exterior point.

Man, I never used to worry about sealed connectors but now I get it.

My buddy’s outdoor lights kept failing and it was just cheap connectors letting in water. Saw a post where someone’s whole garden camera system got ruined from one unsealed join. Makes you realize how a tiny bit of moisture over time can wreck things you thought were safe. Once you see it happen, you start buying the sealed ones without a second thought.

Ugh, it's crazy how that works. It's like the whole "buy nice or buy twice" thing... you see it with phone chargers that fray in a month or cheap garden hoses that split. @ericking is right, you don't think about it until something fails. Then you notice that one weak spot everywhere, from a leaky coffee mug to a rusty bike chain. It all just comes down to skipping the cheap seal or the good coating.
