I did a job at the new apartments on Elm Street and their setup is a real headache
I mean, they ran all the main lines through a single conduit that's only 2 inches wide, and it's already packed. I had to spend an extra hour just trying to fish a new drop through there. Maybe it's just me but I think the builders should have planned for more space. Has anyone else run into this kind of problem with new builds?

Totally feel your pain on that one. It's pure laziness from the planning stage. They just don't care about the next guy who has to work in there.

Actually, a 2-inch conduit is pretty standard for main lines. It's probably just overfilled already, which is the real problem. Builders never leave enough slack for future work.

Yeah, and it's not just builders. The low bidder on the install job is always trying to save a few bucks on materials. They run the bare minimum to pass inspection, then you're stuck trying to fish a new line through a packed tube five years later. It's a shortsighted way to build anything.
