Just realized I've been stripping coax wrong for 20 years

I always used the cheap stripping tool from the supply house. Last week an old timer handed me his manual stripper and showed me the trick. Anyone else stick with tools they know are bad just because you're used to them?

Nah, the "cheap stripping tool from the supply house" part got me. I've been using the same beat up pair of side cutters for years, just scoring the jacket and hoping I don't nick the braid. It's like we get comfortable with the janky way even when we know there's a better way. The old timer trick is usually worth trying at least once. Now I'm gonna have to hunt down one of those manual strippers before I mess up another run.
