Stopped by a new apartment complex in Omaha and spotted something weird
I was running a fresh install at The Ridgeview building last week and every single unit had these tiny junction boxes shoved behind the drywall with barely an inch of slack. Has anyone else run into this with newer builds? It took me forever to get my terminations right with no room to work.

Man oh man, I feel your pain. I swear whoever designs these new builds must have fingers the size of toothpicks and zero patience. I was working on a similar setup last month and spent a good 20 minutes just trying to get my strippers in there without bending the whole wire into a pretzel. My knuckles are still sore just thinking about it, haha. How do they expect anyone to do clean work with no slack, am I right?

Nah, I gotta push back on this one a little bit. I actually PREFER tight panels because it forces me to be more careful and deliberate with my work. When there's too much slack, people get sloppy and you end up with these big rats nests of wire that make troubleshooting a nightmare down the road. Sure, it takes a few extra minutes to get your strippers in there, but that's part of the job. I've seen too many service calls where the original install was fast and easy but the whole panel looks like a bird's nest. A little bit of struggle upfront saves headaches later. Just my two cents though, I know I'm probably in the minority on this one.
