Warning: using a cheap coax stripper on RG6 quad shield
I grabbed a $8 stripper from the hardware store last week and it snapped the dielectric clean off on 3 out of 4 connectors. Anyone else had that happen with lower end tools on the thicker cables?

Yeah, same here. Cheap stripper ripped mine apart too.

Get yourself a proper wire stripper with the ratcheting kind. I went through three cheap ones before I learned my lesson and spent the extra money. Those plastic handled ones just break the second you put any real force on them. The difference is night and day once you get a good quality tool, don't you agree?
