Why does nobody talk about labeling cables with a thermal label maker?
I finally broke down and bought a Brother P-Touch after years of using sharpies and tape flags. The difference is night and day. I did a job last Tuesday at a new office building in Boulder, had to trace 48 cat6 runs back to the patch panel after someone else pulled them. With sharpie tags half were faded or fell off. The thermal labels took maybe 2 hours total to print and stick. They're still on there clean and clear. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big time save on troubleshooting?

Honestly I was one of those people who thought it was overkill and just stuck with sharpies. Thought it was fine until I had to redo an entire panel because the labels turned into unreadable smudges after a few months. Finally grabbed a thermal labeler and yeah it's a total game changer. The time you save not having to redo labels or guess what's what is huge. Plus they look way cleaner which is nice when you have to hand stuff off to someone else. Definitely made me a believer.

Got a thermal labeler last year after fighting with faded labels for way too long. It's honestly one of those things where you don't realize how much time you wasted until you switch. Now I just print, stick, and forget about it, panel looks professional even after sitting in a hot garage for months.
