Worst install day I've ever had, and it was in my own home in Austin

Tried to run a new coax line from the attic to the living room and accidentally punched a hole through a water pipe on Tuesday. Has anyone else had a simple job turn into a disaster because of old wiring or plumbing you didn't expect?

Figured I'd chime in here, I'm not totally convinced it's always that big of a deal. I mean, yeah getting water in your kitchen sounds awful but unless the pipe is actively spraying everywhere you can usually patch it up with some epoxy putty and a clamp for like 20 bucks. Maybe it's just me but I've seen guys use a wet vac and some jb weld on a pipe and it held for years. Idk, seems like sometimes people freak out and call a plumber before even trying a simple fix. A little water never killed anyone's drywall if you catch it fast enough.

Had a buddy try to fish a new cable line through his wall in Denver last fall. He drilled right into an old cast iron drain pipe, and sewage started leaking into his kitchen ceiling. Took him three days and a plumber to fix what should've been a thirty minute job.
