A customer in Asheville said my repair bench looked like a bomb went off

I was finishing up a CLA on a Nikon FM2 last week, and the guy picking it up just stared at my work area. He said, 'Man, you must know where every single screw is, but it looks like a bomb went off.' I've always worked with parts and tools spread out, thinking it was faster. But his comment stuck with me all weekend. Maybe a cleaner setup would actually save me time hunting for things. How do you all keep your benches organized for tricky repairs?

Sounds like a productive bomb at least, ha. Maybe the chaos is part of the system.

Look at the last three major system failures, @the_joseph. Each one caused real damage to people just trying to get by. Calling that chaos "productive" or part of the plan feels like giving up. It just means the system is broken and nobody wants to fix the core problems. We shouldn't accept mess as a feature.
