Can we talk about the Canon AE-1 I dropped on a concrete floor in Denver

I was at a client's house in Denver last month and knocked a customer's AE-1 off my workbench onto concrete, cracking the mirror box and jamming the advance lever. Took me two hours with a jeweler's file and a donor body from my parts bin to get it working again, but I had to call the guy and admit what happened. Anyone else ever have to make that call, and did you charge for the repair or eat it?
