my camera shutter blew up in the middle of a wedding shoot and I had to finish with my phone
I was shooting a wedding at a park in Denver last Saturday when my shutter mechanism just jammed mid-shot with a loud grinding noise, and I grabbed my backup camera from the car but the battery was dead, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has had to MacGyver their way through a shoot with a phone and if you fixed the shutter yourself or sent it out?

MacGyver" is right - last time my camera gave out mid-event I ended up holding my phone behind a menu to hide the fact that I was taking photos with it. The bride still asks why half her reception photos look like they were taken by a tourist in a dark bar. I'd say just send the shutter out unless you enjoy disassembling tiny metal bits in your living room.
