Wasted $75 on a 'universal' shutter tool that bent on the first job

That "universal" tool bending on the first job is the worst. I saw a video last week where a guy said most of those cheap multi-tools are just cast metal, not forged. They look right but can't handle real pressure. It's why a lot of pros just buy the specific tool for the brand they work on most. You end up spending the same money, but on something that actually works.

My old shop swore by those universal tools to save money. After reading what @faiths12 said about cast metal, it finally clicked why ours kept breaking. Now I just get the right tool for the job, even if it costs more upfront.

Is it just me or does this happen everywhere now - from tools to kitchen gadgets, where they make stuff look tough but it can't actually do the job? Ngl, I've noticed the same thing with cheap hand tools at the hardware store, they always break at the worst time.
