A stranger's tarp fold trick near Big Bend fixed my whole setup

Last spring I was camped at a windy spot outside Big Bend and my tarp kept flapping loose. This older guy walked over, watched me fight with it for a minute, and said 'you're folding it backwards, watch me.' He showed me a simple loop and stake method that took maybe 40 seconds to set up. I've used that exact trick on every trip since, and it never once failed in high wind. Has anyone else picked up a useful habit from a random camper like that?
