PSA: I bought a $70 'ultra-light' camp chair that snapped the first time I leaned back in it.
The aluminum leg bent like a straw on flat ground at Lake Tahoe, so what's a good strong chair that won't break the bank?

Maybe those chairs just need a chance to prove themselves. A lot of people toss them around without checking the setup first. Milarodriguez probably just got a bad one, they can't all be that weak. Sometimes you pay for the light weight and have to be extra careful, that's the trade off. Why not try another one but read the instructions this time?

Ever check the weight rating on that chair? A lot of those featherweight models are only good for like 200 pounds max, and that's if you sit perfectly still. You need to look for something with thicker aluminum tubing, not that skinny stuff. I'd skip anything calling itself "ultra-light" and just get a standard folding camp chair from a real outdoor brand.

omg yes, i had one of those snap on me at a bonfire last year. total junk. the good ones are heavier but you don't have to worry about eating dirt.
