Question about that fire ring rule at Yellowstone last summer

I camped at Grant Village for a week in July and noticed every site had signs saying you can only use the provided fire rings but half the rings were rusted out or tilted sideways. My neighbor's ring collapsed during dinner and almost set his tent on fire. Does anyone else think the park needs to step up maintenance on these things instead of just posting warnings?

Classic case of places cutting corners on maintenance everywhere these days.

Grant Village in July, huh? I camped there back in 2019 and half the rings were already wobbly then. I gotta say, @karen_sanchez10, I'm not sure this is really a huge deal. A rusted fire ring is annoying for sure, but calling it a safety hazard because one collapsed seems like a stretch. Most people just stack a few rocks inside to level it out and call it a day. The park rangers have bigger fish to fry than swapping out every crooked ring. Maybe just pick a different site next time if it bugs you that much.
