Shoutout to the ranger at Big Bend who made me look at the desert floor

Stopped at the Chisos Basin visitor center last month just to use the bathroom, but a ranger named Dave was giving a talk about animal tracks. He pointed out a tiny insect trail in the dirt and said "every mark here is a story, even the ones you think are nothing." Spent the next two hours on the Window Trail actually looking down instead of at the mountains. Saw a ringtail print and a snake drag line I would have walked right over otherwise. Has anyone else had a random park employee shift their whole hiking focus like that?
