Camping at Lake Tahoe and the insane amount of trash left behind

Just got back from a 3 day trip to the Desolation Wilderness area near South Lake Tahoe. The amount of garbage I saw, especially around the Glen Alpine trailhead, was honestly disgusting. I'm talking food wrappers, broken tent stakes, and even a busted camp chair just left in a fire ring. What's the point of buying all that nice, lightweight gear if you're just gonna treat the outdoors like a dump? Has anyone else seen it get this bad in the last year or two?

My local park trash cans are always overflowing, same disrespect everywhere.

Saw a report last week about parks cutting back on trash pickups to save money. It's a huge part of the problem @tylerbutler. They put out fewer cans and empty them less, so of course they overflow. People get blamed for littering, but sometimes there's literally nowhere to put the trash. It feels like the city sets us up to fail, then calls us messy. Really makes you mad.
