Can we talk about cheap tent stakes after mine bent on a rainy trip?

I was camping last weekend on the coast near Santa Cruz and a big gust bent six of my aluminum stakes to useless hooks. Had to tie my tent to logs and rocks just to keep it standing through the night. Anyone got a set of steel stakes they actually trust for windy beach spots?

Steel stakes are the way to go for windy spots, MSR Groundhogs have held up through some nasty gusts for me. Funny how we spend all that money on a nice tent then cheap out on the one thing that actually keeps it from flying away. My buddy still uses the same fiberglass stakes from 2002 and every trip he's out there hammering them back straight with a rock.

That many bent stakes in one trip seems extreme to me @nathan_thompson62.
