Finally got my tent seams sealed after 2 rainy trips

Was out at Shenandoah last month and woke up in a puddle at 3am. Water was dripping right through the stitching. Spent yesterday with a $12 tube of seam sealer and a sponge brush and it looks good now, think I got it. Anyone else have trouble with the sealant sticking to older fabric?

Did you degrease the old fabric first?
