Honestly, I just figured out my whole tarp setup was wrong for ten years
Tbh, I saw a guy at a site in the White Mountains last month who had his tarp pitched tight and low, while mine was this saggy mess. Ngl, I was using the wrong knots the whole time, just some basic loops. Anyone have a good video for learning the trucker's hitch?

Yeah I read something about that, how our brains just go on autopilot with routines. Once you see a better way it feels so obvious.

Man, that's such a common thing! It's wild how we can just stick with a way of doing something for years because it works "good enough." I see it all the time with people loading gear, using the same slow method because they never saw a faster way. That trucker's hitch is a game changer, it makes everything so tight. There's a ton of quick videos on YouTube if you just search for it.
