Patience game: My sleeping bag's slow expansion had me waiting days
I got a down sleeping bag for cold weather trips, and it took three whole days to fluff up properly! Has anyone else dealt with this kind of wait with down insulation? I'm starting to think synthetic bags might be better for last-minute plans.

That "part of the charm" idea is everywhere, like waiting for sourdough to rise.

Yeah, I stuck mine in the dryer on low heat with a few tennis balls... had it ready in under an hour. The wait is normal for down but you can speed it up if you're in a pinch. Just keep the heat really low to avoid any damage.

Waiting days for down to expand is actually part of the charm, it means the loft will be incredible. Synthetic bags can't touch that warmth for the weight once it's fully puffed. Giving your gear proper time is just part of respecting quality stuff.
