PSA: That $30 'ultra-compact' sleeping pad from the online ad is a total scam.
I blew the cash on it for a quick trip to the Red River Gorge and spent the whole night on the cold ground. Anyone know a good, actually compact pad under $80?

Remember that pad that sounds like a bag of chips when you roll it? My buddy brought one to a lake trip. It went flat by midnight, but the real kicker was the noise. Every tiny move sounded like he was wrestling a giant chip bag. We all just laid there listening to the crinkle symphony until sunrise.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. I got burned by a cheap pad once too. I've had really good luck with the Klymit Static V. It packs down super small, like a Nalgene bottle, and I got mine on sale for around $70. It's not the warmest for winter, but for three-season stuff it's been solid.

My first pad was a $20 special from a gas station. Woke up on a slope and spent the whole night slowly sliding into a puddle. Felt like a human slug trail by morning. Your Klymit sounds like a palace compared to that.
