$200 tent? That's your problem right there. You get what you pay for. My buddy has a $600 tent that's been through storms in Yosemite and stayed bone dry. Cheap gear fails when you need it most, that's just the reality of camping. Rain happens, especially at the coast, and if you're not prepared for it that's on you not the weather. Read the conditions next time, check the forecast, and maybe spend a little more on something that actually works.

Well, I should probably hide in shame since my $40 tent from a garage sale is sitting in my closet right now. Guess I'm just waiting for the rain gods to teach me a proper lesson.
