Ran into an old ranger at Yellowstone who changed how I pack my tent
He showed me how to roll a tent instead of stuffing it, and now my zippers actually last more than one season. Anybody else get a tip from a stranger that totally fixed a gear problem?

Stuffing's way faster and I still get years out of my tent.

Stuffing is definitely faster, I agree with that. But @nora_barnes, the thing nobody talks about is how stuffing can actually damage the coating over time. I had a buddy who swore by it, and his tent started leaking after a couple years right at the folds. Rolling gets all the air out and keeps the seams and coating intact way longer. So it's not just about speed, it's about what that speed costs you down the road.
