Why does nobody talk about how easy it is to pitch a tent backwards?

I spent like 4 years camping near Lake Arrowhead and always had my rainfly flapping in the wind at night. Finally last month, a guy at the site next to me just walked over and said, "Hey, you got the pole sleeves on the wrong side." I felt like an idiot, but he showed me how to flip it in under 2 minutes. Has anyone else had a veteran camper just walk up and fix your setup like that?

My first trip I set up the tent with the rainfly inside out and didn't notice until it started raining at 2am. I ended up sleeping in the car while my buddy just laughed from his dry tent. Nothing like a seasoned camper walking over and silently fixing your whole setup in 30 seconds to make you question your life choices.

Man that whole thing @the_wendy said about questioning life choices really hits home. It's funny how something as simple as a backwards tent can make you realize how much you just assume you know what you're doing. I think this is part of a bigger pattern in life where we all walk around thinking we've got things figured out until someone quietly points out we've been doing it wrong for years. Happens with everything from loading a dishwasher to backing a trailer. The best part is when the person who shows you just does it without making you feel dumb about it. That silent fix is like the ultimate act of kindness because they let you save face while learning something real.
