I was dead wrong about coworking spaces for early stage founders

For the first 9 months of my startup I worked from my basement in Toronto and swore coworking was a waste of $400 a month. I thought it was just a place for freelancers to drink lattes and look busy. Then I joined CSI Annex in February on a trial and accidentally met my first beta customer at the coffee machine. Within 3 weeks I had 3 solid leads just from hallway conversations with other members. Has anyone else found that random encounters beat networking events for real traction?

Ha yeah I actually read a study once that said most startup deals happen from informal chats not formal meetings lol.
