Investor told me my pitch deck was "too Canadian" - here's what I changed

Met with a Toronto VC last month. She said my deck was too humble. Too many maybes. Not enough bold claims. Told me to stop saying "we think" and start saying "we will." Changed my revenue projections from conservative to realistic aggressive. Rewrote the problem section to show pain, not just inconvenience. First pitch after that got me a term sheet. Anyone else get feedback that made you completely rethink your approach?

Told my barber my haircut was too Canadian and he gave me a mullet instead.

Did you actually ask for the mullet or was that his idea of a joke? Because that move is basically him saying you deserved a free upgrade to rural Alabama status. I mean sure, a mullet is about as un-Canadian as it gets, but now you're walking around looking like you're about to hunt a deer with a crossbow. Maybe you should have been more specific about what "too Canadian" meant, like saying you don't want a haircut that apologizes for itself.
