Our little maple syrup side hustle hit 500 bottles sold and I almost missed it
Started tapping trees on my uncle's land near Huntsville, Ontario three winters back. Just something to do. Last week my wife checked the spreadsheet and we crossed 500 bottles total. I honestly thought we were still around 300. The number that got me was the repeat buyers, 68 of them came back a second time. That means more to me than the 500. Anyone else running a small food or farm thing on the side, what number actually surprised you?

How good did that repeat buyer number feel though? I do honey on the side and when I found out 40 something people had come back for a second jar I basically just sat there grinning at my phone. The total sales are nice but the folks who come back are the ones who actually want what you make.
