The week I ditched my bootstrapped approach and applied for grant funding
Last September, I spent a whole week trying to land a $5,000 contract with a local Vancouver coffee chain for my Shopify app. It was brutal, I got ghosted by three potential clients and felt like my startup was going nowhere. Then a friend pointed me to the Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) grant, and I got approved for $15,000 in just 10 days. That one good week completely flipped my view on fundraising for small startups, has anyone else had luck with government grants over client hunting?

Is 10 days really that fast for a government program?

$15,000 in 10 days is insane to me, I spent like three months chasing a 5k deal and got nowhere. Grants sound way less soul crushing than cold emailing coffee shop owners who wont even say no. Might need to look into that CDAP thing cause my bootstrapping is getting old fast.
