Warning: Coworking space in Toronto with weird startup vibes

I dropped into this new coworking spot called 'Maple Hive' near Queen West last Tuesday because my home internet went down. The whole place has this fake rustic decor but the WiFi password was printed on a receipt taped to the wall. I sat down and within 10 minutes three different people tried to pitch me their SaaS ideas while I was just trying to check my email. One guy literally came over and said 'I sense you're an innovator' like he was reading a fortune cookie. Has anyone else had a weird experience at a Toronto coworking space that felt more like a sales pitch than a place to work?

Calm down, it's just some overeager startup types trying to network. Sounds annoying but not exactly a crisis, just tell them you're busy and they'll leave you alone.

The real problem is that these networking types are basically practicing their script on anyone who makes eye contact. They're not just chatting, they're testing pitch variations and gauging reactions like we're focus groups. Had a guy last week drop the same three sentences about his "disruptive analytics platform" on me two different times in the same coffee shop, didn't even remember my face. That's not networking, that's data collection disguised as conversation.
