Got demoted after a bad demo in front of 40 people
Last month in Austin I froze during a client demo for a software rollout and my manager had to step in. The projector lagged, I clicked the wrong screen, and I lost my train of thought completely. I spent the next 3 days asking coworkers for feedback and rebuilding my practice routine, but has anyone else recovered from that kind of public slip-up without leaving the role?

Man, I really felt that part about "lost my train of thought completely." That's the worst feeling because you're just standing there while your brain goes totally blank and everyone's staring at you. I've had a similar moment where I was supposed to walk a big group through a new setup and I just froze on the second slide, no joke. The fact that you went back and asked for feedback right away tells me you're not the problem, the demo just went sideways. Stick with it, rebuild that routine, and let this be the story you tell later about how you bounced back, not the reason you left.
