Had the worst Monday in 10 years at my accounting firm last week
I showed up to find my boss had promised 3 clients I'd have their quarterly reports done by Friday, including one with 400+ pages of receipts from a construction company in Phoenix. I spent 12 hours that day just sorting through sticky notes and coffee-stained envelopes. Has anyone else had a manager who overpromises your availability without asking first?

Yeah, that's a classic move from managers who think your time is their blank check. Next time, tell your boss you need a written list of priorities before you start any extra work, so you can push back when they overcommit. Get it in email or a shared doc, and if they add more, you can point to the list and say "that's not gonna happen without pushing something else.

Whoa wait, what did I just read @anthony_lane55? You're seriously saying managers think your time is their blank check? That's wild, I can't believe people actually operate like that lol.
