Had to pick between a job in Chicago or staying at my old place in Omaha
Got two offers at once. One was a manager role at a big firm in Chicago, the other was a smaller raise but more freedom at my current shop in Omaha. Took the Omaha job. Best choice I ever made, even though the money was less. Anyone else turned down a big city move for a better daily life?

Man, my buddy did the exact same thing last year. He had a killer offer in New York but turned it down to stay put in our hometown. He said the stress of that city life just wasn't worth the extra cash. Now he's got way more time for his family and his side projects. He looks ten years younger, honestly.
