Hot take: The coffee shop near my office has become a full-time remote work hub

I went to The Daily Grind on 5th Street yesterday and counted 17 people with laptops open, all clearly doing their day jobs. The manager told me they've had to double their power outlets and are considering a time limit. Is this just my city, or are we all turning cafes into unofficial satellite offices now?

That "hog the big tables" part is so real, it's why I just grab my coffee to go now lol.

My local spot, Brewed Awakening, actually loves the remote workers. The owner Sarah said laptop customers stay longer and order more food than quick coffee runs. She added more tables because of them.

The part about them staying longer and ordering more food is a bit off in my experience. At my usual place, the laptop crowd camps for hours on a single drip coffee refill. They hog the big tables and the outlets, like the guy last week who had a full office setup with a monitor. I guess it works for @reese_lane29's spot, but most cafes near me are getting tired of it. The one on Maple started charging for wifi after 2pm.
