I finally understood why my first cleaning bid was so low

I was in a client's kitchen in Tempe last year, quoting a deep clean for their new apartment. I gave them a price of $150 based on a quick look, but once I started, I found pet hair in every vent and grease caked behind the stove. It took me six hours instead of three. I learned to always ask about pets and cooking habits before giving a number. Has anyone else had a simple question that saved them from a bad estimate?

That point about asking about cooking habits is so true. I've started asking if they fry food often, because that grease gets into places you wouldn't believe, like the top of the cabinets. It adds at least an hour of degreasing.

Right? It's like every tiny habit has a hidden cleaning cost nobody warns you about. I've started noticing all these little things people just don't think about until you're scrubbing them.

Ever think to ask about ceiling fans because that dust layer is a whole extra step?
