Just realized how much job interviews have changed since I went back to my old college campus
I was in Ann Arbor last month and walked past the career center at my alma mater. They had a whole new section with practice video interview booths and monitors showing tips for virtual calls. Back in my day, around 2010, it was just a room with a phone for practice phone interviews and a rack of suits to borrow. The whole focus is on digital presence now, not just the handshake. Has anyone else had to totally relearn how to interview for a job they've been doing for years?

Wait, they had a rack of SUITS you could just borrow? That is the most wholesome thing I have ever heard. The vibe now is all about your camera angle and ring light setup. Honestly, that old way sounds kind of nice.

My grandpa's union hall in Toledo had a suit library for job interviews in the 70s. It wasn't just about looking sharp, it was a shared tool so no member started at a disadvantage. That physical act of passing a blazer to the next guy built a different kind of community than a perfect streaming setup ever could. We traded that tangible help for individual control over how we're seen.
