My boss asked me to present the quarterly numbers on 2 hours notice and I blanked on slide 3
This was last Thursday, and I ended up just closing the laptop and talking through the numbers from memory, which somehow worked better than the slides would have. Has anyone else had a presentation fall apart and then recover it by ditching the deck?
Wait, "last Thursday" can't be right for a quarterly close unless your company has a really odd calendar. Most places I've worked don't even have the final numbers locked until a week or two into the new quarter. Maybe you mean last month or last week? Either way, talking from memory when the deck dies is a solid save.
