My mentor told me my emails sounded like a robot wrote them, so I started reading each one out loud before sending
She said "You would never say 'per my last email' to someone's face, so why type it?" Now I read every draft out loud, and my reply rate from clients went from 2 out of 10 to 7 out of 10 in about 8 weeks. Anyone else tried the read it out loud trick, or do you have a different way to catch that stiff tone?
How long does it take you to read them out loud before sending? I keep telling myself I'll do this but I always rush and hit send. What's the one line you catch yourself almost typing that makes you sound the most robotic?
