My old boss at the clinic pulled me aside after 2 weeks and said my notes were too vague, here is what I changed
She showed me one of my entries that just said "patient doing fine" and asked me what a dentist reading that next month would actually learn from it. Now I write down the exact tooth number, what I saw, and what I told the patient, which takes 30 extra seconds but saved me when a patient called back 3 months later mad about something. Any hygienists or nurses here get the same note writing talk when you were new?
