Pro tip: The 'fake it till you make it' trick that got me a raise in 2 weeks
I was stuck in a junior role at my marketing firm in Austin for almost a year. Everyone kept talking over me in meetings so I started using industry jargon from a free LinkedIn course I took. I threw out phrases like 'optimizing funnel velocity' and 'cross-channel attribution' even though I barely understood them. Managers suddenly started nodding at me and I got a $5k bump last month. Has anyone else faked confidence like this or am I just lucky?

Classic, now I'm gonna try "synergizing my quarterly outputs" at dinner tonight.

had the same thought @abby836, honestly. my partner already side-eyes me when I say "let's circle back" about what to watch on Netflix. last week I accidentally said "I need to unpack that" when they asked how my day was. we're unserious people and I respect it.
